Levi's Vintage Clothing 1933 501XX Selvedge Denim Rigid

In 1933, Levi's updated their flagship jean, the 501. In accordance with President FDR's depression-era National Recovery Act laws, they added a white cloth tag with a blue eagle under the leather back patch. But perhaps most importantly, they also added belt loops, and the newer generation of Levi's wearers would cut off the buckle-back and suspender buttons to fit their lifestyle.

This pair from LVC faithfully reproduces the 501 from 1933. Two rear pockets with exposed rivets, branded button fly, buckle-back, suspender buttons, and belt loops for those kids who preferred belts to suspenders! The nerve! Mid rise and a straight leg.

Made using midweight organic cotton selvedge denim. This textile is in rigid, loomstate condition, meaning it will shrink roughly two inches in the waist and two inches in length when washed. Shrink-to-fit, in other words! Measurements are "pre-wash."
