Levi's Vintage Clothing 1890 501XX Selvedge Denim Rigid
1890 marked a pivotal time in the history of Levi Strauss & Co. The brand's patent for riveted jeans ran out that year, and to prevent copycats from taking over the market, Levi's launched the 501, their top-quality jean.
This pair from LVC faithfully reproduces the 501 from 1890. One rear pocket with exposed rivets, donut button fly, buckle-back, suspender buttons, and notably, no belt loops. High rise and a straight leg.
Made using 9 oz. lightweight organic cotton selvedge denim from Amoskeag Manufacturing Company. This textile is in rigid, loomstate condition, meaning it will shrink roughly two inches in the waist and three inches in length when washed. Shrink-to-fit, in other words! Measurements are "pre-wash."
