Merz B. Schwanen

Merz B. Schwanen

The roots of Merz b. Schwanen date back to 1911, when Balthasar Merz started running the textile manufactory on the Swabian Alb in Germany. In 2011, one of his 90-year-old henleys was discovered at a flea market by Gitta & Peter Plotnicki, who were so taken by the fine knit, the pattern, the label—everything—they decided to visit the factory. Before long, they had acquired the company, renovated the building, and restored the original machines to full working order. Today, they make the original 1911 Henley and a range of basics featuring the same captivating details and. precise manufacturing standards as those a century ago—only now with organic, sustainable textiles and a range of classic colors.
